April 8, 1997 - At a festive ceremony in the San Francisco Asian Art Museum, Bank of the Orient received CYCs 1997 Corporate Recognition Award. The award recognized over 25 years of cooperation between the Bank and CYC, stretching back to the year that both were founded. |
| CYC describes itself as a "community-based" multi-service nonprofit agency that serves and empowers youth and their families to become responsible members of society." Its motto: Todays generation; tomorrows future. CYCs programs have grown to encompass a broad range of youth issues. Its programs include: education and counseling; after-school and summer employment placement; substance abuse prevention; delinquency prevention; and crisis intervention services. | ![]() |
| Bank of the Orient has a strong interest in youth issues and a solid commitment to helping groups like CYC solve the unique problems facing youth today. Beyond financial support, Bank of the Orient employees have contributed countless hours of volunteer time. In addition, Edwin Go, a Senior Vice President at Bank of the Orient, is the current Chairman of the CYC Board of Directors.
