John Ng has been with Bank of the Orient for over 20 years, starting out as a Management Trainee in our Chinatown office and working his way up to his current position as President and Chief Operating Officer. Since 1983, John has been responsible for managing and directing Bank of the Orient’s loan strategy. John’s philosophy is to balance sensible credit policies with a sensitivity to the unique needs of each client. In balancing these objectives, John helps the Bank to provide our customers with excellent, personal service, while at the same time ensuring that the money they invest in the Bank is safe and sound. Serving behind the scenes in almost every single loan that comes through the Bank, John enjoys working with our staff to learn about and guide each and every borrowing relationship. A native San Franciscan, John currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Career Resources Development Center (CRDC) Maintrain, where he has been an active member since 1981. He has also assisted Asian Neighborhood Design and Community Educational Services with projects in the past.
