To apply for a Bank of the Orient car loan, download our application form, assemble the required documentation (see our Car Loan Application Checklist below), and deliver all the materials to any Bank of the Orient branch. In most cases, we'll have an answer for you within two business days after receiving your completed application. Please note that at this time, car loan applications are only being accepted from residents of the following nine Northern California counties: San Francisco, Alameda, Marin, Napa, Sonoma, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Contra Costa, and Solano. The following items are required for both new and used car loan applications:
A NEW CAR LOAN also requires:
- A completed loan application.
- Income verification.
Salaried applicant: last month's paycheck stub(s) and last year's
W-2 form.Self-employed applicant or commissioned salesperson: last two years' personal Federal Tax returns with all schedules.
- For applicants with alimony or child support income, please provide a copy of the interlocutory or child support papers.
A USED CAR LOAN also requires:
- A signed Purchase Order.
When your used car loan is approved, you must provide the title, registration and a smog report to Bank of the Orient.
- A valid California registration.
- A signed Purchase Order (dealer sales) or Bill of Sale (private-party sales).
- Vehicle information (mileage, options, etc.).
In addition, for both new and used cars, you must provide proof of vehicle insurance to Bank of the Orient prior to loan disbursement.
Please note that the borrower is responsible for paying transfer fees, sales tax, and registration fees to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
